Description
Portobelo beaches can be found within the Portobelo National Park. This nature reserve has protected reef areas which are full of corals and colorful fish. The park covers an area of 360 square kilometers. In this part there are mangroves and tropical forests. Spend the day visiting one or two of these gorgeous Portobelo beaches with white sand and crystal clear calm waters.

Snorkeling in Portobelo can be offered from Panama City with transportation and lunch. This option includes an 8 a.m. pickup from any hotel in Panama City. The drive to Portobelo takes about an hour and a half. Snorkeling sites are 10 minutes away by boat. The site has a reef with a vertical wall that drops from 3 to 50 feet. It is also possible to go to the beach in the private Tesoro Island. This tour includes a short visit to the town of Portobelo where you can see the ruins of an old fort. Head back to the hotel between 4 to 5 p.m.
Another option for snorkeling in Portobelo is to drive and take the tour upon arrival. It is also possible to do a beach day with kayaks which includes a tour guide, boat trip, and snack.
