Description
Museum BEC Panama is an excellent place to visit if you’re in Casco Viejo. This Panama City museum is fully interactive and ideal for people of all ages. It aims to tell the story of Panamanian beverages and gastronomy. Visitors will experience Panama through their senses. To do this, they have partnered with three brands: Lamastus Family Estates, which produces coffee; Balboa Beer; and Bocao’ chocolate. Unfortunately, the museum doesn’t offer tastings of the brands, unless you purchase the BEC Museum + Lamastus Coffee Tasting Experience.
Lamastus Family Estate has been producing coffee for four generations at Finca Elida in Boquete. These coffee plantations are surrounded by a cloud forest bordering Volcán Barú National Park. This farm has won many awards for having some of the most expensive coffee in the world. Balboa Beer has been produced since 1910, and at the Museum BEC Panama, you can see the evolution of this brand, considered a favorite beer for many. Finally, Bocao’ is a new brand that makes chocolates with Panamanian cacao. At the Museum BEC Panama you will be able to learn about the making of coffee, beer and chocolate in a very fun way.
