Description
Gamboa Canopy Zipline is an exciting adventure to include in your Panama vacation. Gamboa is actually located in Colon in what used to be the old Panama Canal Zone in the corner where Lake Gatun meets the Chagres River.
Glideover over treetops for 1.4 kilometers in 10 cables and 13 platforms. The view is simply amazing since it offers different perspectives of the Panama Canal and the Chagres River. Gamboa Canopy Zipline borders the Soberania Park which means you may get lucky and see some animals such as howler, titi or capuchin monkeys, ñeques or sloths, as well as birds including toucans. Around the month of February you will get an extra bonus since the guayacanes trees are flowering in yellow.
Gamboa Canopy Zipline tour has all the security measures in place for you to feel safe during your journey. There will be a demonstration conducted before the tour and you will be accompanied by several trained guides. Riders get a harness to go on the ultra-resistant steel cables which are between 2 and 32 meters above ground.

What to bring? Long pants, shirt, rain jacket (green season), closed toed shoes like sneakers or boots, water bottle, snacks, insect repellent, sunscreen.
Important information: for safety reasons the maximum weight for men is 250 pounds (113.4 kilos) and 175 pounds (77.2 kilos) for women. Children can participate from five years of age. Rates are the same for children and adults. Small children will glide a guide through the Gamboa Canopy Zipline. Maximum recommended age is seventy years.
There are lockers for tourists to keep their belongings including jewelry. It is not possible to go on the canopy zipline with flip flops or any shoes that may fall off. Take a jacket with zippers in case you want to take your cell phone to take photos. Guides will also take photos of the participants which are available for sale at an extra cost.
This tour does not include transportation, it is possible to coordinate transfer to and from Panama City for an additional fee. Gamboa is about 45 minutes out of Panama City depending on traffic. You can also buy a ticket on the hop-on hop-off bus which included Gamboa on its route.
