Description
Panama is supposed to mean abundance of fish and butterflies. While most people think about sports fishing in Panama, freshwater fishing in Lake Gatun is a great option! The Gamboa Tarpon Club is strategically located in the point where the Chagres River meets Lake Gatun. You will be fishing inside the Panama Canal which is a pretty cool and unique experience. Choose quiet spots in the middle of the tropical jungle. As you fish you will be able to see giant boats which are transiting the Panama Canal.
This area used to be mountains and forests but it was flooded in 1911 for the construction of Gatun Lake. Snook, sergeant, tarpon and peacock bass live in this submerged forest.
