Description
The artisan distillery tour tells the story of Panama through bottling liquor. Castelauro is the name given to the natives of Castilla the Oro, which was the original city of Panama, now known as Panama Viejo. They helped create the isthmus we have now. Each bottle this artisan distillery creates focuses on capturing the aroma and subtle notes in the spirit.
Visitors can take a tour of the artisan distillery to learn the process of creating different varieties of liquors. Castelauro produces rum, gin, seco (like aguardiente without the anise), vodka, coffee liquor, herbal liquor, and triple sec. Occasionally they also produce mead and cider. The artisan distillery tour teaches the process of elaborating each one of these liquors, from the production process to choosing ingredients, distillation and aging.
The guided artisan distillery tour in Panama City will share the history of rum and its cultural experience. The master rum maker will share the trajectory, vision and how to elaborate rum, including how the ingredients influence the profile of the rum. Artisanal destination is quite different than commercial processes. Liquors are also aged in barrels, depending on the type and final character of the product.
