Your guide will pick you up in your hotel in Panama City at 8 a.m. to depart to Anton Valley on the Panamerican Highway. The drive takes about an hour and a half. Upon arrival you will hike the Sleeping Indian Mountain (India Dormida) which is the most famous hike in Anton Valley.
This hike requires good physical conditions since the trail is easy to follow but quite steep. Walk through a lush cloud forest passing through ancient petroglyphs and several small waterfalls where you can cool off. The total distance of the hike is 4 kilometers and it takes about an hour to reach the top of the Sleeping Indian Mountain. There you will be rewarded with incredible views of the surrounding mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Along the way you may see birds, frogs, and other animals.
Anton Valley Rappel allows you to rappel down a waterfall inside a national park. Guides will start this portion of the tour with a security demonstration. The Anton Valley Rappel tour includes harness and equipment which is placed on the participants. Walk up to the top of the waterfall where other security measures will be explained. Participants will be assisted by two professional guides which will help control the descent down the waterfall. It is possible to go down up to three times.
